Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate
If you do not have health insurance or do not plan to use insurance for your care, you generally have the right to receive an estimate of expected charges before scheduled services.
Your right to an estimate
You may request a written Good Faith Estimate before scheduling an item or service. When care is scheduled far enough in advance, we will provide the estimate within the time required by federal law.
The estimate will describe the items or services we reasonably expect to provide during the applicable period of care and the expected charges known at that time. It is not a bill and does not require you to receive care from Hushed and Unheard, PLLC.
If the final bill is substantially higher
If a bill from a provider is at least $400 more than that provider’s Good Faith Estimate, you may be eligible to use the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process. Keep a copy of your estimate and any bills you receive.
