A New DPC Hybrid Model Is Coming to Asheboro: A Different Way to Experience Care

When I opened Hushed and Unheard, my goal was simple. To create a space where people feel seen, heard, and properly cared for.

Over the past few months, I’ve listened closely to your concerns, your experiences with healthcare, and what you actually need, not just what has been offered. That is part of why I began accepting BCBS, because access matters.

Now, I am taking that a step further.

Over the next several days, I will begin introducing a Direct Primary Care (DPC) hybrid model here in Asheboro. This approach is designed to create more access, more communication, and more time focused on you instead of the limitations of the system.

For many people, traditional insurance comes with high deductibles, rising monthly costs, and limited time with a provider. This model offers another option. A membership-based approach that allows for longer, more personalized visits, same-day or next-day appointments for acute concerns, and more direct access to your provider.

This model is structured with clear separation.

At this time, traditional insurance-based visits will continue to be available for patients using BCBS.

The Direct Primary Care membership option will be offered separately and is not combined with insurance billing.

Direct Primary Care is not a replacement for insurance. It is a separate model designed to improve access and simplify care for those who choose it.

During this initial rollout phase, Medicare patients, including those with Medicare due to disability, will not be eligible for the membership option. I understand this may be disappointing for some, but this is not a final decision. This is a starting point, and I will continue to evaluate what works best for the community as this model grows.

I am building this carefully and intentionally, in a way that remains fully compliant, responsible, and sustainable for both the practice and the community.

You may begin to notice updates to the website over the next several days, including changes to visit structure and costs as this transition takes place. I appreciate your patience as everything is being finalized.

As this rolls out, I encourage those who are interested to go ahead and secure their space on the schedule. This allows time to discuss options, answer questions, and determine what works best for your care.

This is not about replacing what I have built. It is about expanding it in a way that truly makes sense for the people I serve.

Appointments are available. You are always welcome to call or text the clinic at 336-628-8735. If no one is available at that moment, please leave a message or send a text, and we will return your call as soon as we are able.

And as always, I’m listening. I’m here for you.
